The Closet Attendant sits securely on two Closet Assistants to form a shelf that extends outward in front of your hanging clothes!  The surface is 12 inches deep (front-to-back) and 24 inches wide (left-to-right).  This provides enough room to set out several items at a time, such as a shoes, socks, personal care products, hairbush, smart speaker, phone charger, and other small items. 
 
NO FASTENERS OR TOOLS ARE NEEDED to install, use or remove the Closet Attendant. The Closet Attendant (floating shelf) requires support from two Closet Assitants that become dedicated to the Closet Attendant.  Closet Assistants are sold separately.  However, when you are not using the Closet Attendant (floating shelf), each Closet Assistant (repositionable rod) may be used to hang other items.
 
The Closet Attendant (floating shelf) is a single piece of solid wood with a pair of grooves on the underneath surface.  Each groove has the same curvature as the rounded surface of a Closet Assistant, such that the Closet Attendant sits firmly on two Closet Assistants. However, the Closet Attendant is only recommended for use where there is a waist-high closet rod and shelf.
 
To install, position a Closet Assistant (repositionable rod) in each groove of the Closet Attendant then insert the ends of the Closet Assistant between your existing closet rod and shelf.  To remove the Closet Attendant, simply clear all personal items off the top surface and lift.
